The following is a brief guide to standard Engineering Insurance covers, with links to policy wordings (where available). Note that the wordings must be read in conjunction with the 'Platform' general terms and conditions section.

 COVER
1. SPECIFIC ITEMS OF PLANT & MACHINERY Breakdown, Sudden & Unforeseen Damage.
2. LIFTS AND LIFTING PLANT Breakdown, Sudden & Unforeseen Damage.
3. BOILER AND PRESSURE PLANT Explosion & Collapse,Sudden & Unforeseen Damage.
4. ALL MACHINERY & PLANT Explosion & Collapse,Sudden & Unforeseen Damage.
5. CONTRACTORS PLANT (OWNED) "All Risks".
6. CONTRACTORS PLANT (HIRED IN) "All Risks" plus Negligent Breakdown & resultant loss of hire charges (to comply with Hire Contract)
7. COMPUTERS All Risks Package but cover sometimes limited to:
  1. Breakdown on Hardware;
  2. "All Risks" on Software and loss of information, Increased Cost of Working and Loss of Profits / Revenue where appropriate.
8. ENGINEERING BUSINESS INTERRUPTION Cover usually follows Material Damage cover plus Accidental Failure of Public Electricity, Gas and Water Supplies.
9. DETERIORATION OF REFRIGERATED STOCK Loss of stock following Breakdown, Sudden & Unforeseen Damage, Accidental Failure of Electricity Supplies and Contamination by Refrigerant Fumes
10. MACHINERY MOVEMENT "All Risks"
11. ENGINEERING ALL RISKS (EAR) "All Risks". Breakdown during testing, Maintenance Visits Cover.
12. CONTRACTORS ALL RISKS "All Risk" on works extending to include contractors plant and tools.
13. BESPOKE ENGINEERING PRODUCTS Tailor made products. Contact your local HSB office to discuss your requirements
