Fan

|
The sketch shows a typical centrifugal fan and cyclone. These would normally be driven by an electric motor. Fans range from the simple “propeller type” to the “axial flow” type shown but all with the same function, i.e. to move air. Their uses and sizes vary from a small extraction fan mounted in a window to an extremely large fan controlling the quality of air in dusty environments such as mines and factories or extracting combustable products. Note :- It is advisable to carry out periodic examinations of the ducting and fan bearings to monitor leakage or predict potential failure.
