Container Transporter Crane

These cranes are found in two main areas, docksides and inland container bases such as railway goods yards etc. They are basically an electric overhead crane on legs fitted with rail wheels and instead of a lifting hook, they have a container lifting frame. Either one or both ends of the crane track are cantilevered in order that the wagons or train rolling stock can pass underneath. This allows them to work over a larger area.
