Power Press
(Electric - Interlocking Guard)
Interlocking guards are used when production procedures require the press operator’s hand to enter the tool area after each stroke to extract or introduce a component to the tool. The guard is equipped with an opening gate which is interlocked into the operation of the clutch. This gate can take two forms, on smaller presses, it is horizontally hinged, and on larger presses, it is normally a rise and fall type. Smaller presses in this category are normally fitted with one interlocking guard at the front, but larger presses can also be fitted with one at the rear. Press capacities can range from 5 to 4000 tons. Appropriate Legislation - PUWER |
