Horizontal Injection Moulding Machines
|
|
The picture shows a modern machine, computer controlled and incorporating all the safety devices as laid down in the Code of Practice. All horizontal injection moulding machines are hydraulic and take the form of two platens, one fixed and one movable into which the two separate halves of the tools are assembled and set. The two halves of the mould are brought and held together and the barrel of the machine injects plasticized moulding material into the cavity of the mould either by screw or ram. When the injected material has set sufficiently to be stable, the two halves of the mould are opened and the component is ejected.
