Press Brake
(Electric - Photo Electric Guard)
A photo-electric guard utilises a light curtain (photo-electric) across the front of the press which is sensitive to a hand or body movement. If this "curtain" of light is broken it acts as a switch and prevents the operation of the tool. The remaining sides of the press are protected by fixed guards.
At the periodic examination the response time (stopping time) needs to be checked in accordance with HSG180 for post '98 machines or PM41 for pre '98 machines.
